Poem: The Lord’s Supper

Kiss me with your blessed mouth of mercy

Lips full of glory

and sweat Dripping down your chest

Forgiving my sins with each breath

This is Absolution.

Take me to confession

And I will recite prayers to the tattoos on your spine

And speak in tongues if only

To worship at the altar of your thighs

You taste like holy water

And feel inexplicably divine

Back scratches like lost scriptures

The communion of Yours and Mine

I am anointed by body and blood

A sacred ritual of lovers

This is the Lord’s Supper
